What can i start growing now?

I know it's a bit late to be starting planting but does anyone have any idea what food crops are likely to be successful if i plant them in the next few weeks?

Courgettes, cucumbers can be started now if you put them in a greenhouse/mini greenhouse NOW, you might still get a few fruit. Radishes will grow quickly and are often used as a catch crop. Look at winter cabbage like January King – they may be able to go in now and I have found that Chard can be put in most of the year and still thrive.

I think there are some summer lettuce which can be started now – you could even try a tomato or two (in the green house) but don’t expect much fruit – you’re a bit late really so it's not worth planting more than a couple.

Now is the beginning of harvesting time for lots of crops like early potatoes etc. so if you have a plot perhaps get on with improving the soil and get prepared for next year.
